Pride by alsobroken Pride by alsobroken
This is for a non-DA contest.
Trying to avoid jinxing myself, so I'm gonna stay tight-lipped for now.
I'll add more info when the contest is over.

Edit 02.06.09: So much for not jinxing it.
This was an album cover contest for the new CD by Stryper.
The only info we had to work with was the album title, "Murder by Pride."
I thought this was a clever little play on words (You know, pride = bunch of lions . . . well, maybe clever is over-selling it.), while still maintaining some (vague) ties to the group's beliefs.

Apparently the band and their label didn't agree.
Congrats to the winner. (I actually mean that. A little at least.) You can see his piece here: [link]

This is pretty neat. The actual cover kind of scares me.

This is wonderful! I really like the colors and the idea behind this. In a way, it reminds me of that movie, Gladiator.

Great job!

It really was an original take on the Album Title. And hey, if they didn't pick this, it's their loss, since this looks just gorgeous. Amazing composition and work on details.

Why this doesn't have more comments/views I don't know. Fantastic, I especially love the lions. Sorry you didn't win though.

I totally understand how that is when you work really hard at something and you don't win. Still, looking at your link I think what they chose was more in line with what you'd expect from a heavy metal band today -- though your idea is certainly more cleaver.

Looks like you started in Poser or DAZ then painted over and/or used other painterly filters. Nice job.
