Three things: 1) Don't know why a mutant as powerful as Phoenix would bother to carry around a whip (other than to complete the killer S&M ensemble,) but if it was good enough for John Byrne, I'm putting it in there too. 2) I agree that a corset that gives you a ten inch waistline would seem counter-productive when battling super heroes.
